Product Description

ORS-8 allows amplification of RS-485 signal from a single transmitter (e.g. recorder, control panel, PC) and splitting it into 8 independent RS-485 buses connected to receivers (CCTV cameras). The device provides optical isolation separately between each output bus and between output buses and RS-485 signal input. The purpose of ORS-8 is to protect CCTV installations from damage resulting from overvoltages on individual devices connected to the RS-485 bus (e.g. overvoltages resulting from lightning).

The device also allows a single RS-485 bus to be split into 8 channels and thus allows the use of a star topology. This allows each camera to be connected with a separate RS-485 cable of up to 1200m, thus simplifying the planning of the physical implementation of cabling in a CCTV installation and increasing the maximum RS-485 signal transmission distances.
