The OM2-SM converter allows changing the medium carrying the data stream from standard twisted-pair STP/UTP to single-mode fiber optic cable. The media converter has two SC connectors. One is used for transmitting (TX) and the other for receiving the signal (RX). The optical signal is transmitted and received in the 1310 nm transmission window II.
