The adapter consists of two modules. One is for LAN and 12V power supply and UTP twisted pair cable connecting it to the second module. The other module distributes 12V power and LAN and is mounted at the IP camera. Passive PoE power supply can only be used when a PoE power splitter is used on the camera side and the camera is powered by 12V. However, with longer cables, the voltage may be too low for proper camera operation.
