MC16-IAC-4 Alarm controller; license for 4 alarm zones

The MC16-IAC alarm zone controller is a variation of the standard MC16 access controller, which has been depleted of functions related to the operation of passageways. The MC16-IAC controller is designed to control the armed states of alarm zones in a building and to present their current status.

Control of alarm zones can be carried out from the level of access terminals, through the use of a badge, by a command issued from the keypad or from the input lines. The presentation of the partition status can be realized on the LED indicators of the terminals and the controller outputs. The current status of the zones can be presented in real time in the system management program, which also allows control of their status. Integration with the control panel can be implemented in two ways. In either scenario, two wired connections are required between the controller and the control panel for each controlled zone.

In the first scenario, the MC16-IAC controller forces a change in the state of an alarm zone by applying a signal to the panel's input line, and the panel unconditionally rearms the zone. In the second scenario, the MC16-IAC controller makes a request to the control panel to rearm the alarm zone by applying a signal to the panel's input line, which then processes the received request and, if other circumstances (e.g., standby status) permit, rearms it. In both scenarios, the control panel signals the armed status of the alarm zone on the output line connected to the input of the MC16-IAC controller controlling the zone status signaling.

The MC16-IAC controller uses the same electronic module as the MC16 Access Controller and offers the same hardware resource expansion capabilities by attaching external expanders and readers. The MC16-IAC-4 controller allows control of up to 4 alarm zones. Events related to control of alarm zones are recorded in the RACS 5 system database. MC16-IAC controller is used in those places where it is required to control alarm system from the level of devices and methods available in RACS system, but without simultaneous operation of access control. When the controller is to perform both functions (system control and access control) MC16-PAC series controllers are used.
