ROGER MCX4D transition expander

MCX4D is an I/O expander dedicated to support 4 transitions in the RACS 5 system. In addition to the expander function, the module acts as a power and communication distributor, and supports a backup battery. For each of the supported transitions, the expander offers: 2 inputs, 2 outputs, a communication interface for readers and two power outputs. The electrical circuits dedicated to the operation of each of the transitions are electrically isolated from each other, which means that the occurrence of a failure or sabotage at one of the transitions does not affect the operation of the other transitions. The MCX4D expander is powered from an external 13.8 VDC power supply, which is also the source of power for locks, readers and other elements of the passage. A power supply current of 1.2 A is provided for each of the supported transitions. The expander cooperates with a backup battery, which, depending on needs, can be charged with an adjustable current in the range of 0.3-0.9 A. Electrical connections to the module are made via removable screw terminals, which make it easy to make electrical connections during installation as well as in case the module needs to be replaced.
