The symmetrical electric strike has a latch (tongue) located at an equal distance from both edges of the housing, which makes it suitable for installation in both left and right doors. This eliminates the need to select a specific type of electric strike when designing an entrance control. The function of the electric strike is to block the entrance secured by it and to release it after supplying voltage to the electric strike coil. The electric strike can be controlled by an intercom system, video intercom system, access control system or a simple push button (so-called "bell"). It allows eliminating the play between the electro-lock tongue and the door lock tongue by extending the electro-lock tongue within 0 ~ 4 mm from the standard position. The electric strike is equipped with a coil that allows it to be powered by DC (from a DC power supply) or AC (from a transformer). This feature allows the selection of the power supply device, for example, in terms of the audibility of the electric strike. After powering the electric strike with direct current, the person at the entrance will hear only a characteristic "click", while alternating current will cause a "buzz" throughout the time the voltage is applied to the electric strike. A short (momentary) electrical impulse is sufficient to open (unlock) the lock, which causes the electric strike to unlock. After passing through the door, the lock will go to the rest position. This is a convenient feature when handling the opening of the door by an outgoing person, where the opening button is at a distance from the lock. without fear of re-locking. It can be used with alarm systems, simple entry control systems, wireless door control systems, etc., where the door opening time is not adjustable. It is not recommended for control by a control system with adjustable opening time, where the set time to apply voltage to the door strike coil may be longer than the time to pass through the door. This will cause the electric strike to unlock again and leave the entrance open.
