Meters for measuring paint thickness on automotive steel and aluminum sheets. It has a MEASUREMENT ASYSTENT® function with LED, a housing with modern, streamlined shapes and additionally a measurement function relative to a reference point. Using this function, we can take measurements relative to a selected point. The function is useful when comparing several test locations in the car. For example, we select the reference point on the left front door, and then take measurements on other parts of the car (beforehand, select "Reference point" in MENU in the MATERIAL option). In this way, taking a measurement on the roof, for example, we get a result of -10um, which means that the roof has a layer of paint 10um thinner than the left front door. The reference point is not erased when the meter is turned off. It should be noted that the MEASUREMENT ASSISTANT® function is only intended to help interpret the measurements, it cannot be the basis for a definite answer to the question of whether the car has had body and paint repairs. Nevertheless, a lot of car appraisers do not really know what a given paint thickness means, so the above function is intended to help with this. In addition, this function can be used to program a different variety of sheet metal (other metals). When setting the reference point, it is enough to do it on clean sheet metal, and from now on, after selecting the material as "Pkt odn", we will be able to take measurements on such sheet metal. The calibration - zeroing function ensures that the meter will measure correctly in all conditions, even after several years of use.
