What are multiswitches?

Types of multiswitches

As for other criteria for the division of multiswitches, we should take into account:

• number of inputs - 5, 9 or 13,
• number of outputs - 4, 8, 12, 16, 24 or 32,
• terrestrial signal amplification - then we have a choice of active multiswitch (having a special signal amplifier) or passive multiswitch (without amplification),
• the way of connection to the system - the multiswitch can then be a terminal equipment, or cascade (one of many serially connected devices in a wide area network),
• the way of power supply - multiswitches can be powered along the trunk line, although there is also a choice of models with built-in power supply or with external power supply.

Applications of multiswitches
