Coaxial cables. The best coaxial cables

Coaxial cables are an accessory necessary for the proper operation of terrestrial television installations. Ivel offers distinctive coaxial cables, made of copper conductor and aluminum, which meet the highest European standards.

Watching TV programs in addition to the traditional receiver still requires a set of several elements responsible for receiving and processing the signal transmitted in front of the transmission equipment of TV stations. Among other things, it is necessary to have appropriate TV antennas and amplifiers, but equally important are appropriate coaxial cables that connect all elements of the set. Their quality and length significantly affect the quality of the received signal, and therefore the comfort of television viewing.

Our coaxial cables are products that will provide you with the best reception in all conditions. Thanks to the varied parameters, it is possible to most optimally match such characteristics of coaxial cables as impedance, shielding effectiveness factor or attenuation to the conditions in which the system for receiving terrestrial television is installed.

What is coaxial cable?

Coaxial cable is a telecommunications cable, which is mainly used in various types of antenna, transmission, cable or network installations. Coaxial cables, also known as satellite cables, are characterized by specific properties that determine their technical parameters. Antenna cable, in the form of coaxial cable performs its function precisely because of the specific technical parameters with which this type of cable differs from traditional electrical cables.

Construction of a coaxial cable

A basic coaxial cable is built from:

  • electrical conductor - usually made of copper; most often it is twisted copper wire, copper-plated steel wire or aluminum wire, although steel cables are also encountered,
  • inner insulation (dielectric) - usually made of solid or foamed polyethylene,
  • screen - which is the second necessary conducting medium in a coaxial cable. At the same time, it protects the signal from electromagnetic interference that comes from the environment. Most often the shield here is in the form of aluminum foil, copper or aluminum braid, although sometimes we can also find it in the form of a sleeve (semi-rigid cables),
  • external insulation (although not always) - which performs the function of protecting the cable from mechanical damage or moisture. For cheaper cables with incomplete braid, the outer insulation is an important structural element.

Satellite cables offered in our store are made of copper main conductor braided with aluminum wire. The cables are additionally shielded with aluminum foil and embedded in a PVC sheath, which provides them with high durability and resistance to external weather conditions.

All coaxial cables offered at en.ivel.pl show compliance with the European Union standard EN 50117 and the RoHS directive. Individual models are ideal both as elements of a collective installation and as individual installations in single-family homes.

Application of coaxial cables

Coaxial cable is used primarily as a transmission line for radio frequency signals. One of the main advantages of using coaxial cable over other types of radio transmission lines is that when it comes to an ideal coaxial cable, the electromagnetic field carrying the signal exists only in the space between the inner and outer conductors. This property means that coaxial cable can be used next to metal objects, such as gutters, without any of the power losses found in other types of transmission lines. Moreover, coaxial cable provides signal protection from various types of external electromagnetic interference.

Coaxial cables are used:

  • in low-power receiving and transmitting antenna installations (for higher powers, waveguides are used),
  • in cable television,
  • in closed circuit television cctv,
  • installing antennas,
  • in computer networks with speeds up to 10Mbps,
  • when accessing the Internet using DOCSIS technology,
  • in audio-video connections.

By installing a terrestrial TV system in your home thanks to our coaxial cables, you can enjoy professional, durable solutions that guarantee the highest image quality. We invite you to familiarize yourself with our offer.
