Self-vulcanizing tape TS-WULKAN/3 is produced on the basis of polyisobutylene rubber The tape is widely used for sealing cable connections in both indoor and outdoor installations Correct installation of the tape provides complete water resistance to fresh and sea water in a very wide temperature range

The tape is supplied with a plastic spacer that must be removed before applying the tape

Proper tape application:

The tape has no adhesive, the sealing of the joint is the result of self-vulcanization of successive layers of tape

Surfaces to which the tape is applied should be clean, dry, free of dust, grease, oil and other contaminants

Proper application involves wrapping (without protective film) with such tension that the tape narrows to 2/3 of its width and successive layers are laid behind the 50% overlap This ensures tight adhesion of the tape to the object to be protected and successive layers of tape The tension of the tape when wrapping is very important because it guarantees the achievement of adequate adhesion strength Depending on the ambient temperature, within a few hours the layers are vulcanized to each other but not to the substrate At room temperature (20°C) full vulcanization occurs after 24 hours
