SCOT electromagnetic jumpers are an alternative to the electric strikes commonly used in access control systems. The jumper consists of an actuator containing an electromagnet, mounted on the door frame, and a metal plate, placed on the door leaf. The energized coil of the electromagnet attracts the plate, thus securing the entrance. Depending on the model of the jumper, the maximum pressure on the door at which the electromagnet attracts the metal plate is 180, 280, 350, 540 kg.
Electromagnetic jumpers are used in access control systems interchangeably with reversible electric strikes, i.e. where security regulations require the opening of the door after a power failure in the control system: emergency exits, fire exits, public buildings.
The electromagnetic jumper has no moving mechanical parts, so there is virtually no wear on the components of the device. For this reason, it is used in high-traffic areas where controlled doors are frequently opened, eliminating the need for constant maintenance.
The EL-2400TS electromagnetic jumper has different operating characteristics compared to standard jumpers. The element attracted by the jumper is a movable plate that is part of the mechanical interlock. The pressure force on the door (necessary to break the lock) is perpendicular to the force of the magnetic field of the jumper (attraction of the plate by the jumper) - the elements blocking the opening of the door are the steel pins of the jumper embedded in the holes of the attracted plate.
Door position signaling
The electromagnetic jumper is equipped with a NO contact, which can be used in an access control system informing about the position of the door relative to the door frame. This can be used to transmit information to e.g. the alarm system, informing about the door status.
Door lock signaling
The electro-magnetic lock is equipped with a NO/NC contact, which can be used in the access control system to inform about unlocking / locking of the controlled door. This allows us to pass information, for example, to the alarm system, informing about the status of the door.
Door closing delay
The jumper has the ability to set the time to close the door (jumper activation) after the door opening pulse is given. This time can be set on the DIP switches inside the jumper housing. Possible settings: 0 / 5 / 10 / 15 seconds delay.
