The MC16-AZC Advanced Access Zone Controller is a variation of the standard MC16-PAC access controller (RACS 5 system), in which one of the access zones can be subject to additional advanced access control mechanisms. These mechanisms include a limit on the number of entrances to a zone, a limit on the number of days with access to a zone, a limit on the number of days with no access to a zone, and group attendance limits for a zone.

The limit on the number of entrances to a zone determines the number of entrances after reaching which the controller blocks access rights to the zone. The limit of days with access determines the number of days during which the controller can grant access to the zone, and these days do not have to be consecutive. Both of these mechanisms are typically used to control access to areas where access is subject to fees (e.g., recreational facilities) or a limit on the number of entries is required (e.g., single-entry access). The absence days limit specifies the number of consecutive days in which the user has not entered the zone and after reaching which the access right will be automatically blocked. This function can be used to automatically block access if a user loses or fails to return the ID to the system administrator. Group Attendance Limits allows you to control attendance in a zone by group. This functionality is typically used when organizing access control for parking lots shared by multiple tenants of an office building.

The RACS 5 system allows recognition of license plate numbers, which, combined with the group attendance limits function, gives the possibility of comprehensive parking lot management, integrated with the entire access control system, based on the MC16-AZC standalone controller. All discussed limit functions are defined individually for each system user. The current values of the limits can be read and adjusted by the system operator at any time. The MC16-AZC-3 controller is hardware-compatible with other controllers of the MC16 controller family and can support up to 3 passages , with only one of the zones subject to the advanced access control functions discussed earlier.
