Meters, magnetic varnish testers are solutions based on the principle of magnetic force, which attracts a magnet (in this case a neodymium magnet) to steel. The thicker the layer of varnish on the steel, the smaller the attraction force. It should be noted that these solutions are not as accurate as electronic paint thickness gauges, but their accuracy is sufficient for a fairly accurate assessment of the condition of car sheet metal. The average user will become proficient in measurements after just a few attempts.

The MEASUREMENT ASSISTANT is only intended to help you interpret the measurements, it cannot be the basis for a definite answer to the question of whether the car has had body and paint repairs. Nevertheless, a lot of car appraisers do not really know what a given paint thickness means, so the above function is intended to help with this.
